Formed in 1971, this Illinois group needed almost 10 years to create its signature slick sound, and to make the album - 1980's Hi-Infidelity - that would push its sales into the multi-platinum zone. However, behind the touching lyrics of definitive power ballads like "Keep on Lovin' You" and "Take It on the Run" was a series of troubled relationships, including the one between Kevin Cronin (lead vocals) and Gary Richrath (lead guitar).
